*Waves* anyone still around? It’s been while I know I’m sorry! Today I’m popping in to share something new…
Yes I’ve actually finished something! Using crochet if you can believe it…. A Daisy Bookmark which took me an entire AFTERNOON to do but worth it as I’m always losing bookmarks and I needed to brush up on my skills for some commissions I need to get my ass into gear to work on!
It is almost too pretty to use! The book props are a bit random… but they are 2 I’ve just finished reading and 2 that are being started imminently and do you want to know a funny thing? For my birthday this week… I now have a Kindle which almost negates the need for a bookmark…
Linking up this baby to Le Challenge as the theme is Blossom and linking inwith the daisy blossom and my blossoming skills (ha ha). Le Challenge if you are not aware of it is run by the lovely Lucy and Nat where on a monthly basis there is chance for any crafter to link up to a theme, show off your makes and possibly win a gift certificate.
I’m going to try and be around a bit more often as I keep meaning to catch up on the books I’m reading and look another piece of shocking news for you………….. I’m SEWING!!! It has been awhile since I’ve had some enthusiasm and energy but I think it’s coming back…
Can a clever monkey guess what this might be?? I just need to find a cute owl button to finish it off…

… Or my attempt at trying to motivate myself to finish things completely!
I’m ashamed to admit that I actually start this a little over a year ago… I really am struggling with the fabric (a Cabbages and Roses Jelly Roll given when subscribed to Popular Patchwork). Wanting to get this finished soon to give as a present!
Some of my vintage stash.. and look there’s actually quarter square triangles there already! Aiming to make with this lot a patchwork cushion, baby quilt and some odds and ends.
Something bit more for me… am really getting into crochet (when I’m not sewing) so I need a case to hold all me crochet hooks don’t I?!
Some other EPP bits that lying around… these are table centrepieces in theory. The bright bake sale one is for me 🙂
Now this is a prototype of something that I really need to get finished!
Something else for me that I’ve sorely neglected due to not having enough fabric. An epp tablecloth I found something similar so hopefully now back on track!
Are you joining in?

Can definitely feel the onset of longer dreary days this week. Its dark, misty and wet! Not to mention since sunday I’ve been fighting off a nasty cold which has left me wooly headed and drained!
Enough about that though… the quilt along posts will start appearing over the weekend whilst I try get back to normal! In the meantime keeping my sanity with a couple of little projects a crochet fox purse and some english paper piecing patchwork. Can you see whats under the ball of wool? It’s going to look so pretty!
So… the first person who guesses correctly what that peek of fabric pieces is going to be turned into not only you feel superior at being first! But I’ll send a bunch of scraps and a hexie pack for you to play. Gotta have some fun right?

So.. I might have found another craft addiction…. Crochet!
When I was doing fairs a couple years ago I did try to learn but couldn’t get it to click now I see I was trying the wrong chain… Being inspired and encouraged by a fair few people this week I had inklings to try again then I saw this when doing the local grocery shop….
What really called to me was the woodland theme- those who follow me more regularly know that is one of my obsessions so how could I resist? There’s a fair few projects I wouldn’t mind doing soon.
There’s even a handy guide for newbies or to refresh on stitches. I think I might start the fox later especially since my “practice” piece went ok. It’s meant to be a coaster for hubbie’s desk but it’s wonky… and that’s due to me not picking up the end stitches oops but least I’m learning!
Now try not to laugh…..
What is everyone up to this weekend?

Last month I’ve heard of Crafty Creatives– a company where you sign up and get a box full of crafty goodies to play with each month. Perfect I thought for random inspiration.
Cue much squeeing when this arrived….
Some of the goodies…. coloured jingle bells, vintage style alice in wonderland postcard, ribbon and more!
There was even this cute project inside a crochet mouse- which I can’t wait to attempt! Although my most recent crochet was a disaster…
Definitely worth subscribing to for me this month.. I just got to think of some things to create with it.
