MMSC- Almost a Snail’s Pace…

Oh dear… not much progress at all since I last checked in. Hopefully by admitting it will give me some oomph to get going!

My 30s repro lap quilt.. this is all stitched so far and a few diamonds basted but a load more repros have made it into my stash since so need to cut and baste… This is a pet project so keeps being put back..

Another pet project… which I’m trying not to share til I finish it… but all I need to do is the border.. see that cutesy flower print yup a lot of hexies, half hexies and partial hexies to go on then then its done. I’m thinking of hand quilting this one too. It’s intended to be a nursery wallhanging…

This a more recent one… is an prototype to a pattern idea I have now once i finished adding those two diamonds do i applique or epp the rest!

Decisions… decisions.. and I can tell you not much sewing again today! Yesterday I managed to watch a massive 7 episodes of Grimm over mums and be catching up on a few more today.

Linking up with Monday Morning Star Count over at Life Under Quilts.

Monday Morning Star Count

I might slightly be addicted to EPP and have so many projects on the go I thought I would start getting involved with the MMSC tally each week in an attempt to concentrate some of my efforts on a project I really love. My 30s repros diamond star lap quilt.

At the moment it stands at six completed with fillers and 5 stars. Eek a long way to go yet…

Have some exciting new things to share with you soon! Happy Stitching.

A few more “me” goals

Wow can hardly believe it’s the 4th already?! Was back to work this week and slowly getting into a routine- the week or so off has given me some time to slow down and ponder.

My last post I set myself some sewing related goals. I love sewing but sometimes I do take on a bit too much and get stressed out combining work, family, social bits and creative needs. Definitely the last 6 -12 months I seem to jump from one virus to another!

With that in mind I am going to try and behave this year- try not to take on too many commitments and give myself back some time to just slow down and breathe. My day job is pretty busy at the best of times.

  • Means more EPP (love the meditative nature)
  • Actually pick up a book or three once in a while- I used to be such a bookworm and would get through several a week now I’m lucky to get through one every few months
  • Spend more time creating for me.
  • Take more time to bake

I did finish last week the EPP section of a bag for my sister- bigger than what was in my head so pondering on what to do next. It’s hubbies birthday tomorrow so doubt I’ll get very far on it this weekend!

I’ve also started sorting out some destash-  a few 100% cottons, polycottons and home decor fabrics and maybe some other craft related goodness so keep an eye out here or over on Instagram this weekend.
