2014 Reflections

I can hardly believe that today is the last day of 2014 it hardly seems like it! This year has been a bit of a rollercoaster- there’s been two additions to the family (a niece and a nephew). Dayjob wise I became a line manager, nominated for an “unsung hero” award and precariously balanced deadline after deadline. Then it’s the sewing… gifts, commissions and my first entry into Festival of Quilts! Topped off with meeting some online friends for the first time in my trip to the midlands in August 🙂

I’ve made a lot of things but I haven’t actually kept a tally/list maybe 2015 though… I must say that this quilt I did for the #littlequiltsswap is one of my favourites. Maybe as it’s called Fans of May and I’m a May baby..

Yes I know it’s not normally me but just look at it 🙂 Blog post on this and what I received soon!

It’s no wonder looking back I started to feel burn out a couple of months ago especially when sewing started to feel like a chore with my constant to do list. I worry too much and it is important to give yourself time to unwind and relax. 2015 I hope to achieve a bit more of a balance between work, sewing and myself especially since I’ve got a fair few things in the pipeline! Reading and baking tends to help me but I’ve done so little baking this year.

However I have managed to reach the goal of reading 52 books this year! The challenge is continuing on into 2015 so if you fancy trying it just take a peek at the Facebook page here.

Hope everyone has a great New Year’s Eve see you in 2015! I’m planning on spending tonight with a long term epp wip that I started this time last year and plotting my Schnitzel and Boo Mini Quilt 🙂
