It may not seem like it…

… but I have been sewing!

Can’t quite believe that it is Thursday already- where has this week gone? I spent the day yesterday down Penzance way checking out Rosudgeon Car Boot and venturing into town. I do look like a patchwork tomato now though! Not often I actually properly go out like that and the factor in my moisturiser obviously not enough.

Anywhere this is where I am at this week. Three tops I want no need to finish piecing.

The Irish Chain! It was my intention to finish this by last week but work got in the way.. Getting there though almost finished piecing the square blocks just the fillers to go.

I’m not going to mention which project this is yet but it is a practice attempt in practice fabrics 🙂 But yay Y seams hopefully later this morning the finished block be done!

Last night I spent an extraordinary amount of time cutting out enough to do five more hedgies for Hazel the Hedgehog Quilt so fingers crossed this morning more will be done.

Lots to be getting on with as always- what are you working on?

Linking up with WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced.

Hello January 2013!

Wow is it 2013 already?

Time keeps being gobbled up quick lately! My little Christmas break and early January has comprised of frantically trying to finish some presents, family stuff, birthdays and sorting out my assignment that was due this morning. Juggling full time work and the final year of a degree is not easy and zaps me out a lot of the time but I will be making time for myself each week.

To keep me motivated I’m linking up with A Lovely Year of Finishes and entering this project…..

Wonky Star Quilt WIP

It’s going to be a wonky star quilt and has been in my ufo pile for a couple of months. 3 out of the 9 blocks are completed and the only cutting left to do is some Kona Snow squares, borders and bindings. Hopefully the finished project will look great! But my aim is to finish piecing it this month!

I’m also setting myself more goals for January…..

Think that’s more than enough for me to get on with! What about you any projects?

Oh dear…. How many works in progress?

Ok.. I finally got round to clearing my desk to make room to a) play with fabrics or b) play with papercrafts i.e the new docrafts goody bag I picked up last week.

However to my dismay I found all these cut out and ready to be sewn.

The bag I remembered it has been on my to do list to finish for well… almost six weeks. It was supposed to be my treat for when I started my new job which was mid April.

However I’ve noticed a stupid mistake! One of the lining pieces I’ve cut out the wrong way. Hopefully I have enough material left do another. It might look ugly now! But it’s my first real bag I’m trying and it’s a fab 50s style pattern by Emma Brennan

Can you guess what the others are going to be? Yup- purses and a funky retroish phone cosy. Well I hope it will turn into a cosy totally my own pattern and playing with it at the moment. We will see……..

Hopefully I can finish these this week and then on to more projects! But what to try next………… I have so many fabrics it’s hard to decide.

How are your WIPS coming along?
