2015 Book List

Soo.. last year I took part in the 52 books in 52 week challenge and made it (just). You can see what I read here. It has definitely reinvigorated my love of reading and made me take a break from work/sewing to just sit and chill.

This year I’m aiming for more but will be reviewing a bit more too 🙂 Encouraged by Kerry I am now on Goodreads but still need do a bit more work on there! But please feel free to follow me 🙂

1. 12th of Never by James Patterson- this is part of his Women’s Murder Club series which I love. I hadn’t picked the series up in a few years so great to get back into it and the characters. If you love JP you’ll love this 🙂

2. Unlucky 13 by James Patterson- the next in the Women’s Murder Club series- it follows on a bit from the last one and ties up a loose end. Enjoyable quick read.

3. The Gunslinger by Stephen King- I had the first four in this series since 2003 and not touched them… a friend when I went to London started mentioning them and how good they were so I dug them out. It’s a shortish book but if you like epic fantasy mixed with good ole fashioned westerns and a dash of horror that this is for you. The first book sets the story a bit and builds the character Roland up

4. The Drawing of the Three by Stephen King- the second in the Dark Tower series. Longer than the first and it introduces some more characters- one I love the other… not so much. Without spoiling it too much it goes between different times of New York and Roland’s world in the quest for the Tower.

5.Dragonfly In Amber by Diana Gabaldon- this is the second in the Outlander series. I never heard of them before Helen piqued my interest last November. It’s a mixture of all sorts but I would generally classify it as a great adventure story with drama, romance and time travel. It had a profound effect on me almost reduced me to tears near the end and I’m still shaking my head. Love transcends time and all plus you know it’s a good book if it’s turning over in your mind when you’re trying to sleep and you still have that little hole in your chest the next day.. Yeah I need more…..

6. Sanctuary by Nora Roberts- loved this a bit less fluffy than expected but a nice romanace thriller. Even if you could see what’s happening a mile off!

7. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn- I heard good reviews about this book and noticed the film was coming out on dvd soon so decided to try it as seemed my sort of thing. Little strange at first as reading the back then starting it I was like huh he’s what now….. but it’s addictive and you love that light bulb moment when you realise what actually is going on…

8. The Wastelands by Stephen King- third in the Dark Tower Series.

*** Oops this is where I stopped updating the list- the rest I’ve read but not necessarily in that order.. although rereading a series I tend go through all in one fell swoop.***
